The introduction of the Terms and conditions of visiting the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk
(hereinafter called: ‘Regulations’) is to describe the rules that will allow our guests to visit the exhibitions in a calm and safe manner and stay on the premises of the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk (hereinafter called: ‘the Museum’). The Regulations apply to all branches of the Museum and apply to all persons staying on its premises.
- The exhibition spaces of the Museum (ie exhibition rooms, open-air museums and museum ships) are open to visitors during the hours and days listed on the website www.nmm.pl and on the information boards at the entrances to the Museum branches.
- Visiting the exhibition spaces of the Museum takes place on the basis of a ticket or a pass (authorizing to visit several objects) purchased at the Museum ticket offices, in accordance with the currently valid price list available on the website www.nmm.pl and at the Museum ticket offices.
- The ticket entitles to a single entry to the exhibition spaces of the Museum under its control and validation.
- Unpunched tickets are valid until the end of the next day on which the Museum is open (except tickets sold for a specific time), and unpunched passes – for the next 14 days on which the Museum is open.
- Ticket offices in Museum branches are closed at the time specified on the website www.nmm.pl and on the information board located in a given branch.
- Visiting the exhibition spaces of the Museum takes place only during the Museum’s opening hours. Visiting the exhibitions of a given branch must start no later than the time given on the website www.nmm.pl and on the information board located in the given branch.
- The exhibition spaces or branches of the Museum may be (partially or fully) temporarily excluded from visiting, eg during the modernization of exhibitions, renovation of rooms or for sanitary, order and other reasons. The limited exhibition spaces remain available to visitors according to the valid ticket prices and are not covered by any special price discount (except museum ships).
- In exceptional and justified cases, visitors may be required to comply with additional rules of staying on the premises of the Museum, provided on the website of the Museum www.nmm.pl and on information boards located on the premises of the Museum – in accordance with the current legal order in Poland.
- Backpacks, suitcases, bags, umbrellas and outer garments should be left in the cloakroom or self-service lockers (does not apply to visiting museum ships “Sołdek”, “Dar Pomorza” and The Vistula Lagoon Museum).
- Items left in the cloakroom or deposit lockers are to be picked up by the visitor immediately after visiting the exhibition spaces of the Museum.
- For safety reasons, it is forbidden to leave any items unattended on the premises of the Museum.
- The Museum facilities are protected and monitored by CCTV for the purposes of securing and protecting the Museum’s collections and securing the Museum’s property. In light of the above, we would like to inform you that, in accordance with Article 13 paragraphs 1 and 2 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the Protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”), we process personal data in the form of an image recorded by the monitoring system in the following manner:
- the Administrator of the visitor’s personal data is the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk, Ołowianka 9-13, 80-751 Gdańsk;
- the Administrator has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted in writing, by traditional mail to the following address: National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk, Ołowianka 9-13, 80-751 Gdańsk with the note Data Protection Officer or electronically to the following e-mail address: ochrona.danych@nmm.pl;
- personal data of visitors in the form of an image recorded by a CCTV system are processed on the basis of:
- art. 6 sec. 1 letter c) of the GDPR in order to fulfil the legal obligations incumbent on the Museum, consisting in preventing a situation in which collections may be lost, damaged or destroyed as a result of theft or other danger, and this on the basis of Art. 5 sec. 5 of the Act of 21 November 1996 on museums in connection with the Regulation of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage on securing museum collections against fire, theft and other dangers threatening their destruction or loss;
- art. 6 sec. 1 letter f) GDPR in connection with the implementation of the objectives resulting from the legitimate interests pursued by the Museum consisting in determining or pursuing any claims due to the Museum or defending against claims of third parties;
- as part of the monitoring, the personal data of the visitor will be stored for a period of 30 days from the date of recording. This period may be extended in the event that the image recordings constitute evidence in proceedings conducted on the basis of law or the Administrator becomes aware that they may constitute evidence in the proceedings – in such a case the data will be stored until such proceedings are legally concluded,
- access to the personal data of the visitor will be granted to the Administrator’s employees, subcontractors, entities providing services on its behalf, who must have access to the data in order to perform their duties;
- the personal data of the visitor will not be transferred to recipients in third countries;
- the Visitor has the right to request from the Administrator access to their personal data, their rectification, restriction, and in the event that the processing is based on the legitimate interest of the Administrator, also the right to object to the processing and the right to delete the data;
- the Visitor has the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, i.e. the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection;
- the provision of personal data by the visitor is necessary for the implementation of the above-mentioned purposes and is voluntary. Failure to provide the data will result in the inability to visit the Museum;
- During events and events organized or co-organized by the Museum, photos and films (image and sound recordings) are taken to record these events. In connection with these materials, we record the image of participants and the audience. These materials may be used free of charge by the Museum for the purposes of promoting and informing about its statutory activities, in particular by publishing them on the Museum’s website and social media, as well as making them available to external media. The image is distributed in accordance with Art. 81 section 2 of the Act of February 4, 1994 on copyright and related rights.
- Bicycles and other means of personal transport may not be brought into the Museum’s facilities.
- Children under the age of 13 may visit the exhibition spaces of the Museum only under the supervision of adults.
- Guardians are responsible for people under their guardianship throughout the whole of the Museum and are responsible for any damage resulting from their behavior, including damage or destruction of exhibits, devices and other elements on the premises of the Museum.
- The visitor or the person under his / her care is liable for all damages in accordance with applicable law.
- Behave in a way that does not interfere with the comfort of others visiting the exhibition spaces in the Museum.
- Visitors are required to move around the exhibition spaces in accordance with the designated sightseeing direction.
- On the premises of the Museum, it is prohibited to:
- touching the exhibits;
- eating and drinking in the exhibition spaces;
- smoking (including e-cigarettes) and using other stimulants;
- being drunk and under the influence of other intoxicants;
- bringing animals (does not apply to animals listed in the Regulation of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of 1 April 2010 on the issuance of certificates confirming the status of an assistance dog, Journal of Laws 2010 No. 64 item 399);
- bring items that may be dangerous to people and exhibits (eg firearms, sharp objects, open fire);
- enter rooms outside the sightseeing route;
- use of mobile phones in a way that disturbs the comfort of people in the vicinity;
- professional photography and filming – it is possible to take pictures and movies for private use free of charge, without the use of a flash or a tripod;
- the Director of the Museum may indicate exhibitions or parts of them that are strictly forbidden to be photographed or filmed;
- professional photography and filming require the special acceptance of the Museum Director;
- conducting any agitation, canvassing and marketing activities (marketing activities are allowed only with the acceptance of the Museum Director).
- Visitors are required to follow the instructions of the Museum employees, in particular with regard to:
- security and order regulations valid in Poland, including the provisions of the Regulations;
- follow the directions of sightseeing in the exhibition spaces;
- limitation of the number of visitors staying in a given exhibition space at the same time;
- follow the instructions for using the exhibition stands.
- In the event of announcing an evacuation alarm, visitors are obliged to strictly follow the instructions of the people in charge of the evacuation operation and immediately leave the museum facility via the indicated evacuation routes and exits.
- The Museum Guard and other security personnel are authorized to intervene in order to prevent the effects of adverse events.
- The purchase of an admission ticket is tantamount to acceptance of the Regulations.
- The Regulations constitute the basis for the employees of the Museum to enforce the rules contained therein.
- In the event of failure to comply with the Regulations and generally accepted rules of behavior in public places, the person violating the Regulations will be reprimanded by an employee of the Museum, and in the event of further failure to comply with the Regulations, will be asked to leave the Museum premises without the possibility of receiving a refund for the admission ticket.
- The Regulations come into force on the day they are signed by the Director of the Museum and are available on the website www.nmm.pl and at the Museum ticket offices.
