The eye-catching building on the Motława river is a modern centre of knowledge about the sea, ports and ships, conveyed in a comprehensive and attractive manner. The interactive exhibition, designed for children and whole families, makes it possible to learn in an entertaining way, for example: the secrets of steering and commanding a sea vessel, handling goods in the port, underwater travel in a bathyscaphe or the formation of tsunami waves. Visitors can also see an extensive exhibition on maritime ethnology, with a unique collection of traditional boats from different cultures of the world, from the Venetian gondola to the Far Eastern sampan. From 2024 onwards, the Centre also invites visitors to explore an interactive temporary exhibition, where they can learn about, among other things, the process of wind formation and the history of its use, and find out about the development of offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea.
