We Have a New Logo!

We are pleased to present the new logo of the National Maritime Museum in Gdansk which has been selected in the competition and will replace the former graphic sign.

Maciej Burda, a graphic designer from Poznań, is the author of the Museum’s new identification symbol. The project idea is based on Morse code which is the universal language of communication. Due to the code and the use of simple means (sound and light), short messages can be transmitted regardless of the latitude.

The new logo is simple in form and elegant. The colour palette, carefully selected for the visual identification, makes it more transparent and also remarkably combines individual features of the Museum’s departments.

We are sure that the newly introduced system of identification will improve the perception of our institution and will be approved by the enthusiasts of the Museum. Moreover, we strongly believe that the new logo of the National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk will be recognized through the years and at the same time, remain contemporary and independent of trends in graphic arts.
