President of the Republic of Poland in the Fisheries Museum

Special guests have visited the Fisheries Museum, the Department of the Polish Maritime Museum (PMM) in Hel. On August 22nd, accompanied by their spouses, Polish president Bronisław Komorowskiand Estonian president Toomas Hendrik Ilves, on a private visit in our country, met with Kashubian representatives in Hel.

The meeting took place in the Fisheries Museum located in a historic former Evangelical Church. Hosted by JerzyLitwin, the PMM Director, the guests admired the exhibition presenting fishing traditions of the Gulf of Gdańsk.

In commemoration of the meeting, Mieczysław Konkol, the President of Pomarenk, an association of traditional Kashubian boat owners, awarded both presidents with the PMM 50th anniversary medals as well as mucas, fishermen’s hats typical for the Hel Peninsula.
