Vistula delta’s history and settlement over centuries

The Vistula Museum in Tczew invites the visitors to see its new exhibition presenting the Vistula delta’s history and settlement over centuries.

Many exciting issues are shown on 34 colourful posters: characteristics, shaping and river regulation in the Vistula delta, the settlement’s evolution in the region, urban centres and harbours in the Low Vistula, including Gdańsk, Vistula floating as an important part of the Golden Age in Vistula and Gdańsk shipping in the 16th century, historical and contemporary shipbuilding in the region, tourism and leisure time opportunities on Vistula, and also people connected with the sea and the river.

The historical objects shown on the posters come from the collections of: The Polish Maritime Museum in Gdańsk, the National Archive in Gdańsk, the Gdańsk Library of the Polish Science Academy and the Museum of Gdańsk History.

The exhibition was financed under the UE LAGOMAR Project (Interreg III B).
